SKG-276 Yukon Adventure Tour

(2008)

A Family Friendly Tour

Our tour starts from Skagway and travels the Klondike Highway all the way to the Yukon Territory.  The beauty is unsurpassed as the road begins at sea level and rises to over 3,000 feet in under 20 miles.  The magnificent scenery includes temperate rain forest, alpine tundra and boreal forest.  This is a tour for the photographer, the adventurer, and the lover of the outdoors.

The Yukon Adventure includes stops at cultural, historical and natural landmarks.  From 3,000 foot waterfalls to 1,500 foot deep glacial lakes, this tour is a trek through a land with no fences and seemingly unending wilderness.  Historical mileposts include Log Cabin, the northern terminus of the Chilkoot Trail, and the Venus Mill, a rustic abandoned silver mine.  Other sights include:

A Yukon tour is the best opportunity to see wildlife in their natural environment.  Black and brown bears are seen all year (although never guaranteed), and frequent in the spring.  Moose are occasionally spotted bathing in the many lakes and rivers that parallel the road.  Eagles are commonly seen soaring overhead.  Other wildlife spotted include marmots, lynx, mountain goats, coyote, wolf and birds too numerous to mention.

The marvelous countryside will enthrall even the most seasoned tourist.  Wildflowers abound during the spring and summer, changing the color of entire mountainsides.  Crystal blue skies dominate the spring and summer's red fireweed blooms give way to vibrant orange and yellow leaves in autumn.

THIS TOUR WILL BE CROSSING THE U.S. AND CANADIAN BORDER, ALL U.S. AND CANADIAN CITIZENS ARE REQUIRED TO HAVE IN THEIR POSSESSION A PASSPORT. PEOPLE OF ALL OTHER CITIZENSHIPS ARE REQUIRED TO HAVE PHOTO I.D., PASSPORT, AND VISA (IF REQUIRED) IN THEIR POSSESSION WHEN CROSSING THE BORDER.
