KTN-151 Rainforest Ropes & Zipline
See the rainforest like eagles do as they fly over the forest canopy.
This is more than a zipline experience…this outing is a perfect way for
you to soar over and into the canopy of Southeast Alaska’s temperate
rainforest AND stimulate your senses. Rainforest Ropes and Zipline is a
course of eight different spans across trees and ziplines, with the added
option of a 50’ climbing tower for the most adventurous participants.
After 25 minute ride along the island coast, arrive at this “off the
beaten track” site and be greeted by your guides. Take a short walk into
the forest where you will be outfitted with safety equipment and receive
detailed instruction on how you will navigate the course. Your first
challenge will get you off the ground as you gain confidence in your belay
system on a balance beam. Test your balance as you gain elevation in a
series of challenges. Ascend higher into the trees across increasingly
difficult elements including burma loops, a slack line, a postman’s walk
and a swinging log which will lead you to the first of three zip line
platforms. Soar through the forest canopy to an old growth cedar then
negotiate more elements between the trees to reach the other zipline
platforms.
Your adventure does not stop there. Head over to the climbing wall and
ascend any or all of the four sides of the tower, or take the circular
stairs to take in the forest and view of Clover Passage. From easy to
difficult climbing surfaces to the Giant’s Ladder, the tower has something
for everyone. When you reach the top, ring the bell and let everyone know
your success!
