Tour Juneau with a naturalist photography guide who will lead you to local "photo hot spots", while sharing tips and techniques to help enhance your images. You will capture Juneau's top sites and abundant marine wildlife on the same excursion! Our itinerary is kept flexible to allow for seasonal highlights and changing light and weather conditions.

The first part of the tour takes place on land, with visits to prime destinations such as the Mendenhall Glacier via our media shuttle. Walk an easy trail through the glacial moraine as you endeavor to get great landscape, nature, and wildlife shots. Next you will board a 32' exploration vessel for an unforgettable journey through the waterways of Juneau's Channel Islands. In this boat we can get close and personal with the environment. It's sheltered from rain and large pontoons provide a steady platform for photographing marine wildlife and shoreline activity.

The star of the show can be different every day: wildflowers in bloom, soaring eagles, spawning salmon, light on a foggy channel, migratory birds, bubble feeding humpback whales, curious sealions, sleek killer whales, and even lumbering black bears are possibilities. Your photo coach will help you take full advantage of the conditions and opportunities of the day.

Notes: Group size is limited to 14 participants to insure a comfortable and interactive atmosphere. Tour operates in most weather conditions. Regardless of skill level, our instructor works individually with each participant to ensure that everyone's photographic abilities are improved. Our itinerary is purposely kept flexible in order to allow for those unexpected events that often become the highlights of an Alaskan vacation. Expect some walking to get the best vantage and experience. Monopods, camera towels and rain jackets/ponchos are also included. provided.
